Myriad chairs, smells like and familiar spot

- This chair place near my office is appropriately named "Chairish" and I had time to study the merchandise out front while waiting for the light to change. I decide that all those myriad chairs around that table at the right would look good. I like when things are not perfectly matched. Click to enlarge.

- A man emerging from the elevator leaves it smelling like fresh laundry.

- Driving 25 miles to make it to my women's circle group (only five minutes late) and finding they have left my usual seat open. It's lovely to slip into a familiar spot amid loving friends.

Slipping into a familiar spot among friends...sounds like a great book title!

I get what you mean about the chairs on the right...I'm sure they all have a story to tell!

Btw, I don't remember the last time a stranger left an elevator smelling GOOD. It's usually the opposite, no? ;) Lucky you, chica!

Happy Wednesday, amiga! :)

Makes you wonder which came first, the store or the name of the store. If I didn't own a chair store, coming up with the name "Chairish" would cause me to open one.

Awe, Irish Spring bath soap I'll bet.

How nice to have a seat at the table.

These three are all great!
The store in the photo looks like a gem. I would have to stop in and have a look around.

That first reminds me a hair salon that recently closed called "The Angry Chair."

Aww. Your friends saved your spot for you!

Lynn~ I was just thinking of a place setting with a different (and unique) bowl at each spot. I like a grouping of different items also! Hope that you are having a good one!

We laugh at ourselves - we meet in the parlor of my church and for some reason, we all always choose the same spot. It was lovely to walk in and see my spot waiting for me. (But if a visitor was in our spot, we wouldn't say anything.) :)

Happy Wednesday, my friend!

Granny Annie -

Here's a link to Chairish - they apparently custom finish chairs and ship nationwide: http://www.drewchan1881.com/Chairish_Atlanta.html

More like Downey. :)

I did call them about a small repair to one of my dining room chairs and his price was very high. My friend Leisa came over and we fixed it together (she mostly did it.)

I'm not sure I would let anyone touch my hair if they put the word angry in the title of their shop. :) Kind of like how I learned the hard way to run when a hairdresser calls herself an "artist."

Jannie -

Awww - and everyone loves Jannie, too! Thanks friend!

They did - so sweet. And there was fresh apple cake, too. Yum.

That would be cool - make sure you photograph that for your blog when you do it. I like that idea.

Good friends and your regular spot. That says "home" to me. Chairish... I'm still smiling. :)

I agree, when I arrive at church (normally late) someone has always saved my usual seat for me. It's a nice feeling.

I wonder if you slammed the door really hard one of those chairs could fall on your head. :D

My chairs don't match either, except for Aunt Besses kitchen chairs, one is out in the backroom. Wonder how that business makes a profit these days?
Fresh laundry does smell good!
Your womens circle were really gonna miss you if you didn't make it I bet! Lucky you!
I always get antsy when my work parking spot gets taken!

So, was the man a laundry man? Inquiring minds want to know!

Mama Zen -

I appreciate that they do that. :)

happygirl -

Isn't that the greatest name?

Joe -

I sit in the same spot at church, too.

lol at the chairs falling on your head - I don't know, they've always been hanging there like that. :)

Snaggle -

I wonder if he does make a profit? That area is rife with places designers buy from - that could be it.

I like that you have your Aunt Bess's kitchen chairs.

Cloudia -

Mahalo!

Riot Kitty -

No - a serious looking employee probably just coming in to work (hence the fresh laundry smell.) That is Georgia Public Broadcasting where the elevator was and they a have people coming and going all hours.

This was a nice "three." I loved the last one -- the space left for you.

I agree with you about the tables and chairs. They'd look like people. You could even name them. The white padded chair I would call Marjorie. The stiffed backed chair nearby would be Edward. The two hanging -- Billy and Bobby. Don't ask me why. I do love your pictures:~)

Thank you for saying!

lol! I love the thought of the chairs having names. I actually have my grandparents' beautiful dining room furniture (she'd probably be appalled that I am sitting at it typing on a laptop) and the chairs are perfectly matched. So maybe they should have similar names, like Buffy, Muffy, etc. :)
